Personal information is any information that can be used to distinguish, identify or contact a specific individual. Exceptions include business contact information and publicly available information such as name, address, and telephone numbers as published in telephone directories. When you apply to volunteer with us, foster or adopt a dog from us or surrender your dog to us, there is certain information that we require to serve you better. This information includes your name, home address, email address, animal history, veterinary information and other personal information. In order to ensure that we fulfill our mandate to place dogs in the most loving foster and adoptive homes possible, we may need even more information, in addition to the foregoing items.
Management of Personal Information

All employees, agents and authorized service providers of ODR are required to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. We keep your personal information with us in strict confidence. ODR does not sell, rent or exchange any personal information collected from supporters, volunteers, foster families or families adopting dogs with any other organization or entity.
Use of Personal Information
We collect and use personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in light of the circumstances. These purposes include contacting any of our applicants, assessing a volunteer’s most appropriate role in ODR, assessing whether a dog and a volunteer are a good match, ensuring dogs being fostered or adopted are given the proper care and support and other purposes to further our mandate.
