Meet your new best friend – Alvin the Floof.

This heart throb cutie patootie just wants to be loved, walked, fed, and then loved again!

Don’t let his age fool you. This little guy is full of spunk and energy. He gets the most excited for walks! Once he is ready to go he will spin in circles and give little barks of excitement. He is always excited to meet everything he sees on his walks. Humans and animals alike, he loves them all! While he would love to run free, his recall isn’t awesome, so he is best to stay leashed unless in a fully fenced area.

Alvin is fully house trained and will tell you when he would like to go outside with a bark at the door, once he knows which door means outside.

Once his energy has been expended, he is ready for his next favourite thing – a good solid nap! His cute snores are nothing but endearing! Give him a comfortable spot on the couch or a cozy bed or blanket on the floor, he doesn’t discriminate!

Alvin travels very well. He will curl up in the backseat, ride shotgun, or curl up at the passengers feet! As long as he is with his people, he is happy!

Alvin would do well with or without another companion dog, and has been around cats and older children.

Alvin is an older boy with some of the usual health challenges that seniors encounter. He has hypothyroidism and will need to be on thyroid medication for life. This may entail periodic bloodwork to ensure his dosing remains accurate. He also has early stage heart disease, for which he takes Vetmedin daily. His heart disease will also need to be monitored in case of further deterioration in future. His age-related nuclear sclerosis requires no treatment. Alvin came into care Lyme positive, but his treatment is complete and he shows no further signs of active infection.

Alvin is up to date on core vaccinations, microchipped and is neutered.
