Gizmo is a 5-year-old Terrier with a big heart who’s learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Since coming into foster care, he’s made wonderful progress with his anxiety and continues to grow more confident every day.
Gizmo is an intelligent, sensitive boy who forms deep bonds with his people. He thrives in a calm, predictable home with a patient, confident adopter who can provide structure, reassurance, and continue his confidence-building through positive reinforcement. He currently has a special bond with his foster mom and is comfortable with men, though he may need slower introductions and a little extra time to warm up, especially with new male visitors.
He loves being part of whatever you’re doing. Whether you’re relaxing or tackling chores, Gizmo wants to be nearby. He’ll happily keep watch from the window and prefers not to be separated from his people by closed doors.
This sweet boy loves his daily walks and is always ready for a cuddle afterward. He also takes his job as “protector of the home” very seriously—especially when it comes to defending the house from the vacuum!
Gizmo can get a little mouthy when he’s excited, so he’d do best in an adult-only home. He also enjoys chasing cats to encourage them to play, so only very dog-savvy cats would be a good fit.
One thing that really helps Gizmo feel secure is having another confident dog around. He takes cues from canine companions and truly flourishes as part of a pack.
