Wine is nine and doing just fine… maybe even aging in reverse!

If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh every single day, allow us to introduce Wine, a 9-year-old sweetheart who insists she’s actually a puppy trapped in a senior dog’s body. Since arriving in our care in July, Wine has blossomed with the help of a special diet and medication for her tummy, and she’s now thriving.

As her physical health improved, Wine started to show some out of character changes in her behaviour. Wine has suspected doggy dementia, but don’t let that fool you: with her medication and her zest for life, she seems to be rewinding the clock instead of slowing down! Wine’s favorite hobbies include playing with EVERY toy… at the same time, zooming through the snow like a supercharged pint-sized sled dog and rolling around dramatically in said snow, trying to get your attention like it’s a competitive sport, and reorganizing the house by gently distributing toys into every room.

She’s incredibly clever, house trained, and she likes to keep tabs on her humans with sweet devotion. Wine LOVES food (like, truly loves food), enjoys walks, and gets along well with other respectful dogs. She can be mouthy in a gentle, playful “I’m just a baby!” way and she does really well in her crate but can bark a little bit when you first leave her.

Wine is also a proud, card-carrying member of the Men Aren’t Always the Moment Club. She’s totally fine with men out in the world, but inside the home? Let’s just say she reserves the right to file a formal bark-complaint. Nothing overly dramatic, just a few “sir, please explain yourself” woofs before settling down when told. And honestly, can you blame her? She has standards.

Wine is the perfect blend of silly, sweet, and spirited. If you want a dog who will make you smile, keep you entertained, and shower you with goofy affection, Wine might just be your soulmate. She’s ready for her forever home, one with love, patience, and plenty of toys to redistribute.
