Howie is a fun‑loving pup who adores people and dogs alike. He’s always ready to make new friends and will nudge you with his nose when it’s time to play. Howie wasn’t properly socialized early on and is still learning his manners on how to properly greet people and other dogs. He will need a confident owner that can help continue his training.
Howie does the sweetest cat-like move: rubbing his body against your legs for attention. This little guy has a mind of his own. He will curl up right beside you with his head on your leg, soaking up every bit of affection. And once he’s recharged, his curious, independent side comes out—nose in everything, exploring his world.
Howie is doing well with his potty training but still needs a reminder and vigilant eye to get him outside in time. Outdoors, he’s an equal-opportunity appreciator of every plant he sees, and he takes his backyard “squirrel patrol duties” very seriously. He’s also making good progress with clicker training. He’s learning that a click often means a treat, and he’ll hurry over to sit as fast as he can—trying to beat his own record every time.
This sweet boy would thrive in an active home with a balanced dog buddy who can help show him the ropes. More than anything, Howie is hoping that this Christmas brings him the best gift of all: a family to call his own.
