Name: Koda
Age: 5 years old
Breed: Mixed

Koda is the sweetest big boy who loves nothing more than chest scritches. Except maybe dinner and a walk!

Koda has settled into his foster home quite well. He came to us as a single dog, but has enjoyed having foster dog siblings. He would do well in either situation. He is playful and silly; loves to chase balls and chew on tough toys. Softer toys will get ripped eaten, so we consider Koda a “super chewer”. Koda enjoys having balls thrown for him to chase, but will also settle down to soothe himself by “mouthing” the ball.

Koda enjoys his walks, but will pull if not on a harness. We have been practicing walking with a loose leash while in his harness, but he will bark and pull to try to meet other dogs. Koda loves everyone so needs to be kept close so he doesn’t greet someone unexpectedly. He is practicing sitting when someone walks past so he can “leave it”, and is doing better each day.

Koda will bark at dogs that walk past the house and sometimes at the doorbell on tv. We are working on “no bark” when this happens.

Koda would do well with someone who is willing to take him for lots of walks or play fetch in the yard to help him trim down a bit. Older kids who can help play and walk would be a bonus! He loves to play and cuddle and is the sweetest boy who is waiting to find his furever home!

Koda experiences mild allergies, which are effectively controlled with a daily dose of Apoquel. He also had his right eye removed last year due to a growth. He is microchipped, up to date on core vaccines and neutered.
