This sweet, chill guy is named Scar for the scar on his head. Originally rescued from Texas, his owners don’t know how he got his scar, but think it adds great character! Scar is approximately 5 years old. He is a perfect blend of lazy couch dog and adventure pup. He loves to cuddle on the couch and snooze for much of the day, but when it’s time to play he loves to show off his extreme speed at the park, go for long walks, and play tug-o-war. Scar is a pretty independent guy, when his owners go to work, he settles quickly and relaxes on the couch, though he’s happiest when around his people.
On walks Scar can be reactive (usually just a quick warning bark) to certain dogs under certain conditions, such as crossing paths at night. However, he is generally friendly with other dogs especially when introduced properly. He is not well tested with cats, but in encounters outside he often gets his hackles up and needs to be redirected.
Scar is generally quite quiet and although he shows a lot of enthusiasm for visitors, he does not bark at the door.
Scar is a gentle, sweet, calm dog who is low maintenance. He is a great companion with a sweet soul. One important thing to note is that he is not a good fit for people with young children. He is generally his well-tempered self around kids, but occasionally has shown aggression when little people invade his space.
The first two years of Scar’s life in Texas remain a mystery, but his home for the last 3 years has taken good care of his health and shown him how to trust people.
Scar is neutered and up to date on core vaccinations.
