Meet Basil – 3-Month-Old Husky mix Pup Looking for a Patient Loving Home! Basil is a sweet, shy, and adorable 3-month-old Husky mix who came all the way from the North. He’s still building his confidence and would thrive in a patient, experienced home.
Basil would do well with another confident dog in the home to show him the ropes, or a strong human leader who can provide the structure and guidance he needs to flourish. Basil has met cats and dogs of all sizes. He is social and loves to play but will need well adjusted playmates who understand and respect his fear until he becomes comfortable. Basil has not met children but would likely succeed with older dog savvy children who don’t make sudden movements or noises as he likes to avoid these situations.
We do not know much about Basil’s history, but with structured socialization so he can learn the world around him, Basil will come out of his shell. He loves toys and treats, but will shut down to both when he’s scared. He’s working on house training and due to the cold weather needs a bit more encouragement to do his business outside – who can blame him? He is starting to like his crate more with treats and food offered in it, but can still have vocal protest moments throughout crate time. Due to his vocal nature (a typical Husky trait!), he requires detached housing where he can express himself without causing issues for neighbors.
