Hi, I’m Odie and I’m in need of a new home. I am a 5-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix. I am sweet, loyal dog who loves snuggling and playing fetch. I am a very nervous boy, but I love unconditionally.
I lost my Mom and lived on the street before I was rescued; because of this I’m afraid of loud noises, objects being held over me, and other dogs as well as cats. I do bark at strangers at the door but am very friendly once they come inside. I am leash trained, but should avoid other dogs on leash because my nerves get the best of me and I tend to bark and lunge.
At home, I love to just take it easy and snuggle with my owner. Routine is important to me, as it calms my nervousness. I am a playful dog inside and outside. I love running around and chasing my ball, so I would do very well in a home with a fenced in yard. I’m great with kids of all ages, but because of my fear of loud noises I’d do better in a home with older children or no children.
I sleep in my owner’s bedroom, and have never needed to be crate trained. A closed room with somewhere for me to feel safe helps me feel less nervous too.
I have never had any significant issues with my health other than my anxiety. I take medication for my anxiety once a day. If you have a calm home, and are looking for a loyal and cuddly companion to share your life with, I’d love to be yours.
