I thrive on attention and play. It will be essential that my forever family gives me lots of exercise and attention, and continue to work with me on my leash manners when meeting people and other dogs – I absolutely love everyone, and I can find it hard to contain my enthusiasm! Despite my short stature, I am muscular and weigh 41 lbs, so when I do my zoomies, I might accidentally bowl over a toddler or young child. Sometimes I can be a bit mouthy when I want to play with my foster mom but I never bite down hard. I just get so excited and want to play.
If I do say so myself, I am smart, food-motivated and respond very well to positive reinforcement. My foster mom says I am doing well about not getting up on the furniture, and that I am getting better and better about not jumping on my 11+ year-old foster fur sister. I would LOVE to have a friendly and playful sibling in my new home – we could entertain each other, which would be great!!!
I love, love, love my toys, and I’m a powerful chewer. It will be important that my forever family have lots of durable toys for me. That said, I’m very good about focusing on my toys and not chewing things I shouldn’t – provided those items are kept out of bounds.
I am an endearing soul who does not have a shred of aggression – I steal the heart of everyone I meet. My foster mom says that, when out for walks, I bring a smile to the face of everyone who passes by. My tail is constantly wagging!
My adoptive family will be rewarded with ongoing entertainment and a natural anti-depressant – it is impossible to be bored or sad around me!!! I look forward to meeting you and being your sunshine dog
Monty has been treated for what appears to be a minor skin allergy. His adoptive family should continue to monitor this matter with their veterinarian.
Monty is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
