Name: Kira
Age: 1.5 years old
Breed: Chihuahua
Kira, or Kiki the chichi, is the sweetest little girl who will be the greatest cuddle buddy in her new family. She absolutely LOVES people. Her tail wags at anyone who gives her a bit of attention. She gets very attached to her people. She will follow you literally everywhere!
When she arrived at her foster home, Kira didn’t know what a walk was. Now, she waits at the door and gets excited when she sees her foster mom take out her leash and harness.
She is still working on potty training but is improving! She’s slowly starting to understand that outside is the right place to go potty and will sometimes wait at the door. She needs to be taken outside regularly as she can still have some accidents. A home with a backyard would be great to continue working on that.
A family with older kids would be great for Kira, as she is sometimes afraid of sudden movements and noises.
Kira’s crate training is still in progress. She can cry a bit while in the crate but mostly just sleeps after she eats her kong treat. Once she’s fully potty trained, she might not need to be crated as she isn’t destructive and is okay with being out of the crate for a couple of hours as she will go sleep on the couch in her blanket.
She prefers calm, smaller dogs. Energetic dogs can scare her, and she will screech and run away. She prefers to be the one to initiate the meeting.
We are working on commands like sit and come here. Give her little pieces of strawberries, bananas, or carrots to win her over. Kira doesn’t bark but can sound like a turkey when she’s excited, which is pretty funny! She is a loving little dog waiting for her perfect family.
Kira is spayed and up to date with vaccinations.
