Name: Chalupa
Age: 9 years
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Chalupa is a very sweet senior chihuahua x with lots of love to give. Estimated to be between 8 and 10 years old, he was found wandering the streets.
Though he can be shy at first, once he warms up he’s a complete cuddle-bug. Chalupa is never happier than when curled up next to you, whether on the couch, the bed or at your feet under the table. Once bonded, you’ll have a dedicated shadow.
A very low key dog, Chalupa doesn’t need a lot of exercise – and he hates the cold – so at the moment he is happiest popping out to do his business and then coming straight back into a warm house. He walks well on a leash so when it’s warmer outside he would be fun to take on some longer walks. He is interested in toys but doesn’t really play with them, other than occasionally playing a short game of fetch.
He has good manners, doesn’t steal food, chew on anything, or otherwise cause trouble. He doesn’t understand commands other than “no” and he doesn’t seem very interested in learning to sit, lay down, stay, etc. He barks a little when people arrive at the door and whines in excitement when “his person” comes home.
Chalupa would do well in a quiet home, with one or two people he could really bond with. He would tolerate a cat that respects his space and would likely warm up to them over time. He doesn’t like other dogs very much, though isn’t aggressive with them when encountered outside. If given time, he would likely settle in and be okay with a doggie sibling. Given his nervousness, he probably wouldn’t do well in a house with small children.
If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly, devoted companion, Chalupa could be the dog for you!
Chalupa is fully vetted and neutered.
