My name is Airdrie and I am a timid but sweet little girl all the way from Texas.

Since arriving at my foster home, I have gained a lot of confidence, and am now very comfortable and affectionate with my foster parents. I am up on their lap at any chance I get and would much prefer to sleep in their bed at night than my own. I’m getting better at going on walks, but I still sometimes walk behind or in between my foster parents’ legs because the outside world is very scary. I understand that I am supposed to do my business outside, but I do sometimes have accidents in the house when I am either over excited or nervous (like when my foster parents are putting on my harness for a walk!) I do not like being alone and am very vocal in my crate – I sometimes go into my crate when I am feeling overwhelmed and need a safe space, but I do not like to be locked inside it. Aside from when my foster parents are gone, I don’t bark very much but I do engage in playful chatter if I am craving some attention, treats or access to the sofa. I love to nap, chew on bones, cuddle and receive lots of belly rubs. I know to come when I am called and I am learning sit and stay. I tend to avoid meeting new dogs when I am out on walks, because I do not like confrontation. I am not aggressive, I am just shy & submissive. I am untested with cats and children, but I LOVE to chase squirrels! My foster parents think I would be best suited for a patient owner who works from home with a fenced in yard for me to be myself and build my confidence in.
