Breed: Terrier mix

This sweet-faced, young pup is Woofus.

He is a male, 2 year old terrier mix who came to Ottawa all the way from a shelter in Texas. Woofus is a wonderful, sweet-natured dog who would make a fantastic, loyal addition to any family. He loves to have his belly scratched and be cuddled. He also loves his toys, especially those he can chew and chew and chew!

Woofus gets along really well with other dogs, provided they are not bigger than him or too pushy. He has been introduced to cats and doesn’t seem to mind them. He is also good with kids but will need supervision around younger ones, so older, dog savvy kids are preferred.

Woofus is good in his crate but would much rather sit on the sofa! He also loves going for walks but, as walking on a leash is new for him, he tends to pull so this is still a work in progress. The same is true for house training. He will do his business outside when taken out on a regular basis but he is still learning so will need structure and consistency. We are working on this but his new family will have to continue this training to allow him to be the best dog he can be as he has never really lived in his own home!
