Breed: Rottweiler mix

Zane has gain over 11lbs since coming in care. Although it is not his ideal body weight, he was healthy enough for his neuter last week. He is recovering well and is looking for his forever home where he can continue his recovery.

Hi, my name is Zane, and I’m a 4 year old rottie mix. Like most rottie’s, I’m very loyal to my people and love to make sure they are always safe. Sometimes, if I hear a noise, I will bark to alert you, but if you let me know there are no intruders, I will stop quickly, and return to my favorite spot…my bed!

I love to be patted so much that if you stop, I’ll gently remind you to continue. I also love food!! I get so excited for breakfast I do my special happy dance. Once I have my food, I prefer that no one bothers me until I’m done. If you leave any food unattended, I will definitely make it disappear. I have no trouble reaching the counter. Also, I have excellent hearing, so I can hear you making a snack and be there in an instant to help.

I know some basic commands, and am good on leash, but do get a little crazy when I see a cute dog walk by. I’m working on that. I’m crate trained, but it’s not my favorite place. If you put me in my crate, I’ll sing for a few minutes, but I stop once I realize it’s fine in there. I’m house trained, like car rides, some dogs, but not all, and I’ve never met a cat, so who knows.
