Hello, my name is Rita. I am a tiny (2 kg), very sweet, playful, seven year old Chihuahua. I came into care due to a combination of severe dental disease weakening my jaw and a large dog bite resulting in a broken jaw and teeth. I needed to have all my teeth removed, 2 communicating tracts (from nasal sinus to mouth) repaired, and my jaw fracture repaired. I also needed to be spayed and to have 2 benign mammary masses removed. Now I have healed and I am looking for a perfect forever home. Since arriving in my foster home, I have come to learn how to play with other dogs, but I prefer tiny dogs like me – bigger dogs scare me a bit and I like to tell them to stay away. I enjoy going outside, even in the snow and rain. I love warm blankets, cuddles, my favourite blue bear toy and playing fetch. I enjoy getting dressed up and having puppy playdates. My foster home has bunnies and I think they are ok. I am very confident once I feel safe, and I like to make people laugh. I prefer a home with another small friend, or at least one open to getting me a friend in the future. Could you be my forever family ? Love, Rita
