ADOPTED – JADEN – 3- 4 YEAR OLD CHIHUAHUA MIX

Jaden, a 3-4 year old Chihuahua mix, came to Canada on quite an epic road trip from Texas.
He was pretty terrified of everything when he first arrived and his foster parents weren’t too sure what to do at first but it seems living in a home with other dogs helped teach Jaden pretty quickly how to begin to be a dog. He’s been learning to run and play and chase. His fosters are really enjoying watching him come out of his shell.
He is almost fully potty trained and loves to head out to the backyard and enjoy the sights and smells.
Jaden is familiar with the crate but typically sleeps in his corner bed where he feels safe. He doesn’t like to be picked up so it was a little tricky at times for his fosters but the crate is not needed and he does well with his little spot so that’s where he usually settles best.
Jaden is quiet but will bark occasionally if his other fur siblings are barking though we don’t think he knows why he’s barking.
He’s not interested in the cat at all, we think he could be friends with the right cat.
He has not been around children so will either need a home with older children or none at all.
As mentioned Jaden is very shy and learning to be a dog. When he arrived he would not come near anyone. You had to be very careful when handling him (if you could catch him) and he would not leave his spot at night to even go potty.
Since being with his fosters he has started to come when he’s called and has made his way to being a bit of a cuddle bug but he needs a special adopter who is willing to be patient while he continues to learn to trust humans. He is working on his commands and will need to be taught manners around the house. Although Jaden has come a long way on most training, he is still very unsure of how to walk on leash.  He will run around with the leash on, but, once he has a person holding the leash he freezes.  We are still working on leash training and adopters will need to be prepared to continue the leash work.

Jaden is up to date on all vaccinations and is neutered.
