This sweet soul is Blossom, a 15 yr old (ish) Maltese x chi. She came to us in horrible shape but her trust in humans is still there, and she wants nothing more than to snuggle us or wander around exploring. She may be older but she still has pep in her step and her bloodwork came back surprisingly good, although it did show that she has non-regenerative anemia. This condition may or may not be related to a mammary mass. Her teeth are also really bad, but after a long discussion with our vet and due to her advanced age, it was recommended that we not attempt extractions as her jaw is much too fragile at this point. She has therefore been placed on a daily dose of Metacam to deal with any discomfort, she eats a soft diet and she seems to be doing well. We will not be asking for an adoption fee – we just really want to find a calm, quiet and loving retirement home where she can live out the rest of her life being pampered. We would love to find a retired person who can spend as much time with her as possible.
